When you use scanning features, images are captured and sent to our processing services to extract nutrition information. Images are processed and then discarded — we do not store photos of your food or nutrition labels.

If MyNutritionist is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We treat health-related information with the highest level of care. This includes your disclosed health conditions, health goals, and all food and nutrition logs.

Important: MyNutritionist is not a medical service. The health ratings, AI coaching, and nutrition information provided are for informational purposes only and do not constitute medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.
If you choose to connect Apple Health, MyNutritionist will write nutrition data (calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, and sodium) to your Apple Health database when you log a meal. We do not read data from Apple Health.
Apple Health data is stored on your device and governed by Apple's privacy framework and their Health app terms. We do not have access to any Apple Health data stored on your device beyond what we write to it.
You can revoke Apple Health permissions at any time through iOS Settings → Privacy → Health → MyNutritionist.
The following third-party services are used within the app. Each has its own privacy policy:
When you interact with scanning features, your camera images are transmitted to Google Cloud Vision for processing. When you use the AI Nutritionist chat or meal planning features, your messages and relevant profile context are transmitted to OpenAI. In both cases, only the minimum data necessary is transmitted and it is not used to train third-party models under our service agreements.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and health data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.
Anonymized, aggregate usage data (which cannot be linked back to you) may be retained indefinitely to help us improve the app.

MyNutritionist is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at info@mynutritionist.app and we will delete that information.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, access controls limiting which team members can access user data, and regular security reviews.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending a notification through the app or by email.
Your continued use of MyNutritionist after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
